CISD Families - Please be aware that the rain is causing bus delays this morning. The district will be doing a second and third bus run throughout the morning and will accept late students with no penalty. As always, we encourage parents to make decisions that are in the best interest of their family.

All Cleveland ISD campuses and facilities will be OPEN today, Thursday, May 2nd, 2024. We will continue to monitor the weather throughout the day and notify the community of any changes.

The C9 International Festival, planned for tomorrow, May 2nd, has been postponed. We will update with a new date in the near future. Thank you for your patience.

CISD Families - As of right now, Cleveland ISD plans to be open tomorrow, Thursday, May 2nd. However, we are continuously monitoring the weather and will inform families if anything changes by 5AM tomorrow morning.

The district Immigrant speaker event originally taking place tomorrow, 5/2 at the Civic Center at 10AM has been postponed.

Due to rising flood waters in the Cleveland area affecting numerous staff and families, all Cleveland ISD campuses and facilities will be CLOSED tomorrow, Wednesday, May 1st, 2024. The district will assess the ongoing situation and notify the community about Thursday. Please be safe and we hope to see everyone back at school on Thursday, May 2nd.

Due to flooding concerns, Cleveland ISD will be closing all campuses for the day. Transportation will be provided beginning at 2PM for CHS and C9 students, followed by middle school students, then elementary students. Parents are able to come to campuses now to pick up their child. We will keep families informed on the situation regarding classes tomorrow and the rest of the week.

All after school activities have been canceled for today, 04/30/2024.

CISD Families - If you are located in a high-risk area for flooding and you wish to pick up your child from school early, please contact your child's campus and campus staff with work with you on coordinating a pick up.

CISD Families - Due to an internet outage affecting the entire Cleveland area, all campuses will not have phone services until the internet is repaired.

Guess what?? We've got some BIG changes coming next school year!!
Our school board has just approved a brand new starting teacher salary of $63,500!! Along with this, our bus driver starting pay has increased to $21.50/hr! But that's not all... all other staff will be getting a RAISE!!

Jaylen Taylor has been awarded a total of $517,728 in scholarships. One of which is the Sam Houston State University Smith Hutson Scholarship that is estimated to be $160,000 this is a full ride scholarship. Congratulations to Jaylen Taylor!

Our last senior has made history in Cleveland High School by being the very first Gates Scholarship Winner! The Gates Scholarship is one of the most prestigious and highly selective scholarships in the country. Over 53,000 submissions were made and only 750 students were selected and one of our own was awarded, this scholarship is a full ride to any institution of the students choice, he has also accumulated over $325,000 worth of scholarships, a big congratulations to Oscar Sosa!

Attention CISD Families - For safety reasons, the district will be placing restrictions on backpacks during the final weeks of the school year. Effective Tuesday, May 7th, NO BACKPACKS will be allowed on campuses for the remainder of the school year.

We're looking forward to a SAFE and FUN end of the school year! In the coming weeks, campuses have many events and activities planned to celebrate a very successful school year. Please know that Cleveland ISD will continue to follow all Safe & Secure Schools protocols and initiatives as we close out the school year. Students and staff will be following all safety expectations through the last day of school.
