CHS Parents,
The district is aware of another threat that has been made to the CHS campus for today, September 18th. In line with all other threats that have recently been made across the nation, Cleveland ISD is taking this seriously and our district police department is investigating. CHS is safe, secure, and will have an increased presence of law enforcement throughout the day. Campus operations will resume as normal.
Parents, please continue to remind your children of the severity of making these threats and the consequences that follow.

Congratulations to Cruz Robles and Josue Maynez, who took their first discovery flight this past weekend! Amazing job!
Thank You to Local EAA Chapter for being a sponsor of Cleveland HS Aviation! #DiscoveryFlights #theClevelandISDway

The district has been made aware of another threat that has been made against a Cleveland ISD campus for tomorrow, Tuesday September 17th. In line with all other threats that have been made across the city, state, and nation this past week, Cleveland ISD is taking this very seriously and is investigating thoroughly.
Tomorrow will be a normal school day across the district, but all campuses will see an increased presence of law enforcement throughout the day, along with increased usage of our metal detector wands and drug dog. Parents, please help us by alerting district officials of anything you may know in regards to these recent threats. Please also talk to your children about the severity of making such threats and the consequences that follow.

Our CHS AFJROTC cadets spent a full Saturday at Sam Houston State University! They received a briefing on the SHSU Army ROTC program, including scholarship opportunities. Next, they received a campus tour, enjoyed a tailgate party with hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza and prizes. Finally, they attended the SHSU vs Hawaii football game where our own David Garza got to fire the cannon for the start of second half!
A very full but fun day! #AFJROTC #theClevelandISDway

CHS National Honor Society students are holding a fundraiser later this month at El Burrito! Come eat some delicious food and have a portion of the proceeds donated to our NHS kids! #NationalHonorSociety #Fundraiser #theClevelandISDway

This morning, CHS was placed into a lockdown emergency that was triggered by a campus staff member activating their state-mandated silent panic alert technology. Out of precaution after seeing CHS activate a lockdown emergency, CMS was also placed into a lockdown emergency. This activation was a FALSE ALARM. Both lockdowns have since been lifted and campus operations will resume as normal.
We would like to thank district police, the City of Cleveland, Liberty County, the Cleveland Fire Department, and the Constable's Office for their quick response time to this lockdown.

UPDATED OPEN HOUSE DATES! ‼️ #OpenHouse #theClevelandISDway

Yesterday, 3 CHS AFJROTC cadets had the opportunity to meet with senior AFJROTC officials to discuss the AFJROTC Flight Academy Scholarship, a tremendous opportunity for select cadets to earn an 8-week summer scholarship for private pilot training at select US universities. Selected cadets could potentially earn a Private Pilot Certification (PPC).
As an added bonus, our cadets received a guided tour through the Lone Star Flight Museum! #AFJROTC #theClevelandISDway

The memory of September 11th, 2001, remains vivid in our hearts and minds.
Let’s take a moment today to reflect on the unity and resilience we saw in the face of tragedy. May we continue to carry forward that spirit of compassion and strength in our daily lives.

Do you have any spare neckties?? We're looking for community donations! 👔
Later this month, CHS will be continuing a three-year streak of a beloved event for our high school boys - learning how to tie a tie! Ms. Natosha Meyers will be teaching CHS boys this valuable skill just in time for several special events later this year - homecoming, prom, graduation, etc.
If you have spare neckties to donate to our high school boys, you may drop them off at the CISD Admin Building front desk from now until Friday, September 27th. Last year, over 150 necktie donations were received, and we would LOVE to get even more this year!
Thank you for your support of our amazing students!! #HowToTieATie #theClevelandISDway

We have been consulting with weather experts regarding Tropical Storm Francine as it continues to travel through the Gulf.
