Our Shared Vision

Together, with the community, Cleveland ISD creates a safe environment for high academic and personal growth that empowers ALL to be successful.

In February 2023, Cleveland ISD made a commitment to design and implement a shared vision.

Over 885 stakeholders from the district and community participated in surveys, focus groups, and design teams. In April and May, various design teams convened to review the data from employee and family surveys and perceptions collected from more than 20 different focus groups. Based on this data, these design teams crafted a shared vision with guiding documents that genuinely represent the district and community's path forward. The guiding documents, including Core Values, Profile of a CISD Learner, Profile of a CISD Graduate, and Profile of a CISD Leader, were designed to support this shared vision.

Cleveland ISD stakeholders, including parents, students, community partners, the City of Cleveland, teachers, counselors, paraprofessionals, campus and district administrators, as well as professionals from all departments, all contributed to creating this shared vision. It truly was a collaborative effort, and the district extends gratitude to all those who participated. They invite others to join in their journey towards ensuring great success for students, families, and the community.

Shared vision pillars

Strategic Plan

Cleveland ISD is putting our focus towards five main priorities that collectively serve as the support pillars of our Shared Vision:

A Culture of Learning, Community Engagement, Cultivate Talent, Culturally Responsive, and Campus Safety. Read more about these priorities below.

Guiding Documents

To go along with our Shared Vision, we enlisted the help of staff and community members to collectively define our district core values, as well as the traits of a Cleveland ISD Leader, Learner, and Graduate.
