Cleveland ISD Multilingual Compliance & LPAC

What is LPAC?

LPAC is the Language Proficiency Assessment Committee, established based on state and federal guidelines to ensure multilingual students are served appropriately in our schools.

  • Ensures all Emergent Bilingual (EB) students are identified and served according to legal guidance and best interest of the student.

  • Coordinates with other school programs to facilitate participation of identified EB students.

  • Recommends students for participation in Dual Language or English as a Second Language programs.

  • Annually reviews EB students for state assessment participation, progress monitoring for linguistic growth and recommendation for reclassification as English Proficient.
