IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KNOW!

  • You have 31 days after your start date to enroll in Cleveland ISD benefits. Once you enroll, or If you miss the deadline, you will not be eligible to make changes to your benefits until the next open enrollment period in August, unless you experience a qualified life event.

  • No "Out of Network Coverage" means that IF you wanted to see a doctor that is “out of network”, there would be no coverage provided by the carrier and you would be required to pay the full amount.

  • If you select either the Primary or Primary Plus plan, you are REQUIRED to see the primary care physician that you selected BEFORE seeing a specialist to obtain a referral. If you do not know who your listed primary care physician is, or need to change physicians, please call the 1-800 number on the back of your medical card.

  • Retiring or just have questions regarding your TRS funds?

    Other than medical plans, CISD does not have access to your TRS member contributions or status. In order to check your TRS status, benefit fund withdrawal, retirement date, years of service, etc., you MUST contact TRS.

RESIGNING DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR

  1. Your benefits will end on the last day of the month that you resign.

  2. You will receive COBRA information in the mail directly from the carriers after your plans cancel. CISD does not handle any portion of COBRA. You can also call FBS at 800-583-6908.

  3. If you have questions regarding your TRS funds you will have to call TRS. CISD does not get to access this information.

  4. If you have taken all of your state and local leave, and have NOT worked through the end of your calendar year, you will be deducted the days that you have not "earned", as of your resignation date, from your last paycheck.
