Elementary
Elementary school students receive art instruction beginning in Pre-Kindergarten. The Pre-K through 5th grade program develops students’ visual literacy skills by using creativity to create original works of art. Student artwork is displayed at campus and district events throughout the year, such as the Rodeo Art Show and the District Fine Arts Festival. These shows are designed to showcase students’ classroom learning and celebrate students’ creativity.
Middle School
This middle school art program is designed to foster creativity, imagination, and self-expression in students. Through a combination of hands-on art projects, group discussions, and critiques, students will explore a variety of artistic mediums, techniques, and styles. Throughout the program, students will learn the fundamentals of art, including color theory, composition, and perspective, and they will have the opportunity to create their own original works of art.
High School
The high school art program provides students with the opportunity to explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills. Students are encouraged to communicate their thoughts and ideas through art-making and find paths to self-discovery through art. Drawing, painting, sculpture and ceramics are just some of the projects a student can be involved in. Students have many opportunities to display their artwork at campus art shows, the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Art Show, Community Service, and the Spring District Art show.
