MATERNITY & PATERNITY
HOW TO START MEDICAL LEAVE (FMLA) AND WHAT TO BE PREPAIRED FOR
To start the FMLA process, a medical form will have to be completed by your physician (or spouse's physician if for Paternity) and turned into the district's Benefits & Risk Management Coordinator, Jessica Morris, at least 30 days before the estimated due date.
FMLA, or extended medical leave, is not paid UNLESS you have state or local leave days available. In a way to try and fill this void, the district offers short and long term disability, as well as, hospital indemnity plans during the annual open enrollment period.
