Communication Procedures for Inclement Weather:
During inclement weather situations, we make every attempt to assess the road conditions and notify staff and students as early as possible.
There are a number of factors considered when making a decision that impacts normal school operations:
student and staff safety
parents' need to make arrangements
district resources to support operations (such as electricity, heat, etc.)
the ability for Transportation to access district roads and safely transport students to and from school
Weather related school closing decisions are made by school officials and reported to the television media by 6:00 AM each morning. The district uses several communication avenues to notify parents, students, and staff about school closings or delays.
The district will post updates and information on the website at www.clevelandisd.org.
The Cleveland ISD Mobile App will send an alert to all users. The app can be download on the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store.
The district will post updates on the Cleveland ISD Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages.
The automated phone calling system will be utilized in the event of a delay or school closure. Note: The district will not call between 9:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.
An "All Staff" email will be sent to all Cleveland ISD staff.
Closure or delay will be reported to the following TV stations:
