KEY NOTE: Other than medical plans for active employees, CISD does not have access to your TRS member contributions or status. In order to check your TRS status, benefit fund withdrawal, retirement date, years of service, etc., you MUST contact TRS.
**You can complete all necessary forms on line through your TRS account on "MyTRS.Texas.gov"**
STEPS FOR PLANNING FOR RETIREMENT:
10 to 12 MONTHS PRIOR TO RETIREMENT -
Request the "Estimate of Retirement Benefits" (Form TRS 18), complete and submit to TRS (also located under "quick links and forms")
Watch member education and financial awareness videos (TRS Learning Website)
Review retirement options
Schedule an appointment with a benefits counselor
6 MONTHS PRIOR TO RETIREMENT -
Submit your Application for Service Retirement Packet (Form TRS 30)
You will receive a Retirement Application Acknowledgment (Form TRS 32) with further instructions.
