Competitive Compensation Package
CISD offers a competitive compensation package. We are the first school district approaching the Houston area to offer a starting salary over $55,000. In addition to our great starting salary, Cleveland ISD offers critical needs supplements and incentive pay for recruiting critical needs employees.
Cleveland ISD offers two payroll deducted retirements savings plans to supplement your TRS retirement annuity. These plans give you flexibility to plan for your future.

New Teacher Academy
New teachers to Cleveland ISD get a jump start on learning the culture and curriculum while attending the New Teacher Induction Academy. The academy is a team building experience that is sure to get your year off to a great start!

Employees who reside outside the district’s boundaries may enroll their children in a Cleveland school nearest to their place of employment.
Many Cleveland ISD schools are classified as Title One. Employees with school loans are encouraged to check with their lending institution to see if your loan qualifies for reduction or cancellation.
CISD’s mentorship program provides a mentor for all first-year teachers. The goal is to ensure success of all new teachers through the mentor’s support and assistance. In addition to the mentor, each campus has a mentor coordinator supported by the district coordinator of professional development.

Sick and Personal Days
A typical employee in Cleveland ISD will earn five (5) personal and two (2) local days per year. Unused days can accumulate from year to year.
Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS)
Since 1937, TRS has provided substantial pension, death and disability benefits to Texas public school employees. When retirement requirements have been met, TRS pays a lifetime annuity. For more details, visit the TRS website.
