CLEVELAND

INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

Principal

Mr. Ed Husk

 Welcome Northside Parents,

The 2017-2018 school year is fast approaching. It is hard to believe how quickly our children grow up. Our school is full of wonderful 3rd and 4th grade students that make our job possible. Thank you for sharing your children and allowing us to teach them during this critical time in their life. These are foundation years where they are moving from learning to read to a life of reading to learn. It is critical that they have the best opportunity to learn at this pivotal point in their education. They must be here in order to learn so we know you want them to be on time every day for school.

Our times for school:

Start 8:25      End  4:00

My background:

I have 25 years experience in education with a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Indiana State University and a Masters in Education from Tarleton State University. Degrees from college are necessary, but my grandparents must get most of the credit for anything I have learned because they were my first teachers. Parents are indeed the first teacher for every child and we honor your role as the first teacher for your child.

I am very proud to be a part of the Cleveland ISD family. My experience as an elementary teacher and a campus principal at every level gives me the confidence to lead the staff toward our goal. Student success is our goal and we want you to be a part of our team

Although I have had many jobs and blessed with numerous experiences from around the world, all this does not make me important.  Your child and their education is the only thing that makes our job important. We are entrusted with the care and education of your children. Yes, “your children” are the most precious treasure Cleveland has in our community. We all take great pride in providing for their education during these foundation years.

My office is open for drop in meetings, but making an appointment is generally better so I can give you more attention. The parents here at Northside have been supportive of our school and policies so we want to say thank you. We hope you have a great year with your child at Northside Elementary.

Respectfully,

Edward L. Husk
